SUMMARY:Colonization and the Wampanoag Story with Linda Coombs
DESCRIPTION:Join us with author Linda Coombs for a discussion and Q&A of
her book Colonization and the Wampanoag Story. Linda Coombs (Aquinnah
Wampanoag) is an author and historian from the Wampanoag Tribe of
Aquinnah\, and lives in the Wampanoag community of Mashpee on Cape Cod\,
MA. Book is intended for children ages 10 and up but children ages 6 and
up welcome. \n\n\n\nAbout the book: From its “discovery” by Europeans
to the first Thanksgiving\, the story of America’s earliest days has been
carefully misrepresented. Told from the perspective of the New England
Indigenous Nations that these outsiders found when they arrived\, this is
the true story of how America as we know it today began.\n\nThis event has
been developed with a donation from the Jennifer Kane Scholarship and
Charitable Trust. Each child who attends will receive a copy of Linda's
book. Please register each child who would like a book individually so we
can insure we have enough. \n\n\n \n\n \n\n\n
