3rd Annual Horror Symposium In-Person
Come join us on October 18th at 7:00 p.m. in the Fehlow Room at the main branch for an evening of macabre and horror! We will be welcoming 3 authors from the horror genre for a panel discussion about their works and more! The authors include: Paul Tremblay, Bracken MacLeod, and Sara Farizan! The discussion will be moderated by fellow author, Hillary Monahan. Light refreshments will be provided.
Paul Tremblay is back for his third appearance at the Horror Symposium. Paul is the acclaimed author of Head Full of Ghosts, Cabin at the End of the World, Growing Things, and Survivor Song. His most recent release is The Pallbearer’s Club, which was described by Karen Russell as “a book that looks death squarely in its sighless eye” and is “brimming over with life and inventiveness.”
Also back for his third appearance is Bracken MacLeod! Bracken is the award-winning author of novels like Mountain Home, Stranded, Come to Dust, and Closing Costs. He is a Bram Stoker, Splatterpunk, and Shirley Jackson Award nominated author. Terrence Rafferty with the New York Times Book Review described Bracken’s work as, “fiction full of traps–some physical, some psychological, none easy to wriggle free of.”
Joining us for the first time is Sara Farizan! She is the award-winning and critically acclaimed author of the young adult novels Here to Stay, Tell Me Again How a Crush Should Feel, and the Lambda Literary award winning If you Could be Mine. Sara’s upcoming novel Dead Flip has been described as an edge-of-your-seat YA horror perfect for fans of Stranger Things!
