Music Appreciation: Defining Classical Music In-Person

Sandi Hammond  Presents: A lively, entertaining and educational presentation with the indubitable, "Miss Tilly Margaux Kingsley," lover of all music.

Sandi  has been teaching voice, piano and songwriting for over 25 years.  With a voice described by the Boston Herald as "gorgeous", and a song featured on the RESPOND compilation on Columbia Records, Sandi enjoys teaching, performing locally in Massachusetts and working as Music Director at First Parish Plymouth.  Her work wth an all-transgender choir was featured in the New York Times, on NPR, and in Oprah Magazine.  In the fall of 2021 she begins a Masters in Music Therapy at Lesley University.

During the pandemic, Sandi developed a comedic character named Tilly Margaux Kingsley who hosted a series called “Opera Artists Crossing Over” which was met with great enthusiasm.  Sandi’s five-minute comedic vignettes - filmed at home and posted on social media- have drawn fans from classical music and popular music alike.  Sandi brings Miss Tilly’s humorous approach to this educational series at the library.
