Drag Queen Story Hour

Drag Queen Story Hour In-Person

Join us on the front lawn with Just JP and Nuqueer from  Boston's Drag Story Hour chapter.  Drag Queen Story Hour (DQSH) is just what it sounds like—drag queens reading stories to children in libraries, schools, and bookstores. DQSH captures the imagination and play of the gender fluidity of childhood and gives kids glamorous, positive, and unabashedly queer role models. In spaces like this, kids are able to see people who defy rigid gender restrictions and imagine a world where people can present as they wish, where dress up is real.

From El Salvador via Cambridge MA, it's Just JP! They use any pronouns, please mix them up! He appreciates it. They love makeup, performing in brunches, editing videos, fighting oppression and eating pupusas. Just JP was the winner of the first cycle of Worcester Drag Wars in 2018, and since then, she has been a staple in the New England drag scene. She has performed on the stages of Worcester Pride, NOHO Pride and Providence Pride. Just JP is part of Drag Diva Brunch every Saturday at HOB and she’s produced tons of digital content. Just JP is also the chapter organizer of Boston’s Drag Queen Story Hour (DQSH).

Trickster of a thousand faces, Nüqueer Power is genre and gender defiant--- and they’ll bring their masquerade to any and every happening. A prolific producer of events all over New England, before we all went digital they could be found most frequently around Boston as Host for variety drag shows & immersive nightclub theatricals, or serving lewks for such delightful institutions as Houseboi, DADT, OBERON, and Storytime with Drag Kings, Queens, & Friends.
