The Day When Plymouth Entertained A Sitting President

The Day When Plymouth Entertained A Sitting President In-Person

One hundred years ago this week, on August 1, 1921, the highlight of Plymouth's celebration of the 300th anniversary of the landing of the Pilgrims was "President's Day." Warren G. Harding arrived in town via presidential yacht to speak and to ride in a top-down limousine at the head of a massive parade.  Join us on July 29 at 7:00 PM to re-live this remarkable event via our collection of historic photos.  Technical Services Librarian Liz Dube, who worked with the Boston Public Library to digitize our photo collection, together with Reference Associate Julie Burrey will take you on a virtual tour of this remarkable moment in Plymouth's history.

You may attend in person or virtually using Zoom.  When you register, please indicate what your plan is.  The Zoom link will be emailed to everyone the day before the program.
