Songs and Stories of the American Folk Revival In-Person
Join us in the Fehlow Room for a trip down memory lane to the American Folk Revival! Musical duo Lewis & Shea will guide the audience through the music of the late '50s and '60s, discussing its focus on reviving traditional music, the motivations of the artists of the time, and folk music's ties to the civil rights movement, the anti-war movement, and the birth of the singer-songwriter movement. Lewis & Shea will perform original tunes as well as favorites such as "Where Have All the Flowers Gone?", "If I Had a Hammer," and "Kathy's Song." While the program is geared toward those who came of age during this period, the songs and music are educational for all--come relive the revival!
