CANCELED: Author Talk with Anatol Zukerman In-Person

Please join us on April 1st at 6:30pm in the Fehlow Room at the Main Branch for a reading and author talk with Anatol Zukerman! Mr. Zukerman will be touching on a number of his published works, including:

  1. “The Art of Satire”: a collection of my paintings and poetic stanzas.
  2. “Amerussua”: several short stories of Russian-American relations.
  3. “Bilingualism”:  a book of articles and translations from classical Russian poets.
  4. “The City of Newdoom”, ten short stories.
  5. “Responsible Art”, a collection of my paintings and poems.

Many of these books are available to check out at the Main Branch and the Manomet Branch Library.

About the Author:

Anatol Zukerman was born in the Soviet Union and graduated from Moscow Institute of Architecture and two art schools. In 1973, he emigrated to the United States. Presently, Anatol works in Massachusetts as an architect, artist, teacher, writer, poet, and translator. He is a member of the Plymouth Public Library's Writers Group and the Center for the Arts. Anatol published and illustrated four books in English and two bilingual books of his poems: "The Bridge" and "Responsible Art." His poems were published in Inc 96, Candlelight Poetry Journal, Newton Free Library Anthology, "Slovo," and "Krugozor" magazines, and other publications. He writes poems and short stories in both Russian and English. Anatol also translates from works of classical and contemporary Russian poets. Mr. Zukerman was awarded poetry contest prizes in Candlelight Poetry Journal and Newburyport Poetry Competition. He has read his poems at the Newton Free Library, Cantabe Lounge, Booksellers' Cafe, Border's, and Barnes & Noble bookstores. He has been a monthly feature reader at Agape Poetry Group in Boston. In 1997, Anatol organized a bilingual poetry reading called "Cultural Bridges'' that had been a successful annual event at the Newton Free Library. Anatol has taught art and literature at Brandeis Adult Learning Institute and at the University of South Carolina. Mr. Zukerman has retired as an architect, but still volunteers as a city planner. He is a member of South Shore Citizens Climate Lobby.
