Local History Book Club In-Person

We are lucky to live in an area so steeped in history! This book club will celebrate that history by exploring the wealth of books about the South Shore. We will meet quarterly on the first Tuesday evening of February, May, August and November at 6:30 pm in the Board Room to discuss a book selection. Books will be available to check out at the circulation desk of the Main Library four weeks prior to the meeting date.

For the May meeting we will be reading Between Concord and Plymouth, by L.D. Gellar, a chronicle of the friendship between Emerson, Thoreau, Channins, and especially Alcott with Benjmain Watson, a Plymouth intellectual and horticulturist, and the literary circle he cultivated. Includes classified list of trees and shrubs planted at Watson's Hillside in Plymouth.
